For most means of transport you can just tap your contactless card. Otherwise you may have to buy a “Navegante” card (0.50€) and can top it up with any credit (“zapping” option) and use in all means of transport (metro, bus, suburban train).
To/From the airport
Lisbon airport is connected by metro (red line) and one “tourist” bus called Aerobus, that drops you outside the large majority of hotels in the city centre. Taxi fares are relatively cheap, and you can also use TVDE (i.e. Uber or Bolt applications to book your trip).
